Earth is Old
Each of the ages was a theatre of many acts: for example, the Great Ordovician radiation event almost eclipsed the Cambrian explosion in new life forms. Then at the end, the first of a parade of extinction events, called the Odovician-Silurian. Life has its ups and downs.
But to celebrate this era, I looked up, the sky was alight! Meteorites, almost 100 times as many per year as we see today, rained down.
